The International Quarter, London

The International Quarter, London

Located at the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, the project will be a major new employment hub in East London, creating more than 25,000 jobs. Transport for London (TfL) has agreed to occupy the building, with their offices being located within the second part of this £2.1 billion development. Construction of the building started in summer 2015. The ambition for the project was to create a space with unrivalled connectivity for employees, business partners and customers as well as flexible, efficient and sustainable workspaces.

Hotel La Tour

Hotel La Tour

The dramatic increase in the number of visitors to Birmingham and the heightened demand for quality accommodation was the key driver behind the project - together with the improved physical and economic infrastructure of the city. Council Leader, Mike Whitby said: “A record 32.8m visitors came to Birmingham in 2010 - our fifth successive year of growth - and this boom in both leisure and business tourism is one of the reasons that we have so many hotels currently at various stages of construction.” PHP Architects appointed RCM, leading supplier of specialist building boards, to provide their CemboardTM - a cement bonded particle building board - to be installed onto a light weight steel frame.

Nairn Church

Nairn Church

Pasquill, the UK’s largest supplier of roof trusses, has manufactured and supplied unusually large-scale Posi-attics for a historic church in Nairn near Inverness as part of a fascinating conversion of the Listed building into a children’s nursery.

Premier Inn, Walsall Waterfront

Premier Inn, Walsall Waterfront

The development was based on 2.2 acres of brownfield land, where more than 300 homes and apartments as well as a Premier Inn hotel were to be constructed. This was the final part of a development programme planned to transform the town which, in recent years, has seen a new hospital, college and art gallery. Walsall was in desperate need of regeneration, and this development programme has been described as a massive vote of confidence for the city centre, as employment in the local area was at an all-time low. Whitbread were central to this project, opening a large Brewers Fayre restaurant alongside the hotel.

Keynsham Civic Centre & One Stop Shop

Keynsham Civic Centre & One Stop Shop

Like many other town centres, Keynsham was subject to unsympathetic development, falling victim to the architectural fashion of the 1960’s. The town suffered badly when the Cadbury factory closed in 2011 and needed positive intervention. The town centre recently underwent a regeneration programme - the objective was to generate commercial and residential growth.

The Bishop Centre

The Bishop Centre

In 2013 plans were passed to create an out of town shopping experience with an innovative new retail and business park on the outskirts of the village of Taplow, situated on the river Thames in Buckinghamshire. The key driver for the build was to create a brand new and exclusive shopping experience.
